SAN JOSE, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Feb. 18, 2003
Samsung SDS today announced the availability of WiseVIEW Mobile, a 2D/3D visualization and collaboration software solution for design engineers in the North American market. WiseVIEW Mobile offers a way for engineers to view, manage and collaborate with data in real time using the mobility and convenience of a PDA. WiseVIEW Mobile also enables over 200 file types to be viewed in multiple formats. Files from major CAD systems can be assembled on one platform, providing consistency and enhancing job efficiency.
WiseVIEW Mobile is available in two editions to suit the collaboration, data conversion, and mark-up needs of the individual and enterprise user. WiseVIEW Mobile Standard includes a 2D viewer, while WiseVIEW Mobile Pro offers 3D viewing.
"Engineers keep their CAD data on their PC or workstation, making it challenging to access and share information in the field and at the same time collaborate with others involved in the design cycle," said Steve Yim, product manager, Samsung SDS. "Really, who would want to walk around on plant floor, or construction site with large blueprints or a heavy laptop, when WiseVIEW Mobile provides a quick and cost-effective way to have access to files while on the move?"
WiseVIEW Mobile's converter works by compressing Image, 2D and 3D files on the PC to JPEG, DWF and W3D formats, enabling more data to be contained on the PDA. This makes the process extremely convenient for engineers who work outside of their office, to transport and easily access their CAD data. W3D, Samsung SDS' proprietary file format, is the key file format of 3D CAD data for communication, which accelerates the end user's collaboration speed.
WiseVIEW Mobile Standard is now available in the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $99 through local computer resellers as well as through Global Computer, a leading computer reseller subsidiary of Systemax, Inc. WiseVIEW Mobile Pro will be available later this year.
