Title CADENCE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES THE WINNERS OF THE 2002 NDES SHOW STOPPER AWARDS

The premier CAD publication honors best products in MCAD at top manufacturing tradeshow
San Francisco, CA (March 25, 2002) - Last week at the National Design and Engineering Show, part of National Manufacturing Week, held in Chicago March 18-21, CADENCE editors selected the top 10 products exhibited on the show floor that they felt will have the greatest impact on the PC-based CAD industry. Although the general U.S. economy has suffered a prolonged downturn, the R&D teams behind mechanical computer-aided design products have moved definitively forward. This year's show provided a clear example of the wisdom of continuing product-development strategies with an eye on the long term. The Show Stopper announcement was delivered directly from the show floor via CADENCE's first NDES mid-week email newsletter, giving MCAD professionals, both at the show and those who could not attend instant information about the winners.

The editors of CADENCE magazine give Show Stopper awards at two major industry tradeshows every year - at NDES in March and at the A/E/C SYSTEMS show in June. After attending product demos and briefings of CAD-related software and hardware products at the show, the CADENCE editors select 10 companies that distinguish themselves with products that exemplify innovation and creativity, and that promise to have a positive impact on the way CAD pros do their work. These award winning products help move the CAD industry forward by introducing new capabilities to the market or bringing existing products to a new level of efficiency. As only 10 products are selected from the companies in attendance at each show, this award provides recognition that helps establish credibility with show attendees and other vendors. Being awarded a Show Stopper from the leading magazine in the CAD industry is an indication to CAD professionals of a cutting edge, highly usable product. CADENCE congratulates the entire team behind each of these products, from development to marketing.

Among the winners at this was WiseVIEW from Samsung SDS. WiseVIEW is a 2D and 3D viewer that offers a range of different capabilities from data exchange to data conversion. It also makes it easy for users to view data from different CAD systems, including CATIA, SolidWorks, Inventor, Solid Edge, Pro/E, Unigraphics, and other major modeling systems. The program features well-developed markup capabilities as well as model assembly, section viewing, measuring, and comparison. Collaboration sessions include a model browser that allows users to convert data, zoom-in and out, and hide and reveal elements in 3D models.
